Terry Heath
CEO
A former Royal Navy Electrical Engineer by day (and ship DJ by night), Terry moved to the U.S. from London and spent many years at Siemens USA in various key roles focused on logistics, mobility, building automation, fire and security and more. He founded Sciens Building Solutions in 2016 and continues to lead the charge in creating the largest independent fire and life safety company in the U.S. A major part of his focus is uncovering companies that are a great addition to the Sciens national platform and continuing to grow those businesses. Terry resides in Winter Park, Florida.
Michael Grigsby
CFO
As Chief Financial Officer, Mike leads the Sciens finance organization responsible for creating the strategy and structure needed to support the company’s continued growth and expansion to being the largest and most trusted independent fire and life safety company in the U.S.
Prior to joining Sciens, Mike served as CFO at several companies through his career including Stanley Black and Decker, Intertek, and most recently Acuren. During his tenure at Acuren, he led initiatives to support new centralized financial systems and processes across a growing business with several local divisions, allowing the company to focus on growth both organically and acquisitively.
Mike has a BA in economics from Tulane University and an MBA from the Yale School of Management. When he is not on the road visiting our teams, he is an avid hiker and traveler and has visited many of the U.S. national parks with his family. He is married with two daughters and lives in Houston, Texas.
Scott Rheaume
COO
Scott brings more than 30 years of nationwide experience in the fire and life safety industry with a professional background spanning leadership, finance, sales, and operations. He began his career at Simplex in Massachusetts and held roles in key markets across the country with SimplexGrinnell and Johnson Controls (JCI).
Over the course of his career, Scott spent more than two decades supporting major California markets, including Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, and San Francisco. He has since led operations for the mid-Atlantic region, Philadelphia and New Jersey markets, and most recently, the Southeast for Sciens. Scott is focused on building scalable, highperforming organizations that deliver exceptional service and longterm value.
Outside of work, Scott and his wife, Daniella, enjoy staying active, spending time with their chihuahuas, boating, and exploring Florida’s beautiful beaches.
Dave Krohn
CMO
As Chief Marketing Officer, Dave leads the overall marketing and digital transformation strategy for the organization, with a focus on helping to build Sciens into the largest and most trusted independent fire and life safety company in the U.S.
Prior to joining Sciens, Dave most recently served as SVP, Sales & Customer Experience at Zurn Elkay Water Solutions. During his tenure at Zurn Elkay, Dave led the global sales, marketing, digital, and customer experience teams within the business. Earlier in his career, he held several marketing, sales, and digital transformation positions of increasing responsibility at Del City, Uline, and Briggs and Stratton. Dave completed his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee with a double major in marketing and finance and holds an Executive Scholar Certificate from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Dave lives a very active lifestyle just outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin with his wife, two kids, and rescue dog. Outside of work, Dave is an avid sports fan and loves traveling to new destinations.
Ashley Proctor
CIO
As the Chief Information Officer for Sciens Building Solutions, Ashley leads the Information Technology organization responsible for defining and execution against a business-aligned technology strategy that includes modernizing Sciens’ core business systems, strengthening the company’s cybersecurity and risk management, establishing a solid IT integration plan to rapidly onboard new acquisitions, and implementing ITIL-based service management capabilities to deliver IT operational excellence.
Prior to joining Sciens, Ashley held leadership roles within global IT organizations, such as Amgen, ThermoFisher Scientific, Gilead and CSL Behring, where he delivered measurable improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of the IT function.
Ashley has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of South Africa with a double major in Accounting and Business Economics. He and his family have lived all over the world; he and his wife, Lynn, currently reside on Amelia Island, Florida with their two rambunctious Sheepadoodle puppies. They enjoy walking on the beach, swimming and paddling surf skis. They have two children.
Derrick Mitchell
CDO
As Chief Digital Officer, Derrick leads Sciens’ digital, data, and AI strategy, with a focus on helping shape Sciens into the largest and most trusted independent fire and life safety company in the U.S.
Derrick brings more than 20 years in the fire and life safety industry, including two decades as CEO of LS Systems before the company joined the Sciens platform. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Derrick lives in Winter Park, Florida. Outside of work, he is an avid mountaineer, pilot, and cave diver.
Sarah DeCuir
VP, People & Culture
Sarah joined Sciens in 2020 and brought to us nearly 20 years of comprehensive HR experience. She most recently headed up the entire HR department at the San Francisco Opera, where she organized their first ever wellness week for 900+ employees. Favorite pastimes for Sarah are cooking, baking and reading. She resides in Roseville, California, with her husband, Tyson, and their two young children.
Troy Conners
VP, Business Development
With over 20 years in the industry, Troy has served in various sales, sales management, and general management capacities. Prior to joining Sciens, he was Director of Sales for the Siemens Fire and Security Products channel, consisting of over 330 independent dealers. At Sciens, Troy works on the front end of our acquisition process by identifying, evaluating, and executing commitments with independent dealers to join the Sciens platform.
Troy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University.
Troy currently resides in Michigan with his wife, Kim, and their daughter, Logan. They are involved in two charities that are near and dear to their hearts – the TOPS soccer program for developmentally disabled children and The Epilepsy Foundation.
Ashley Overby
VP, Business Development
Ashley grew up in the Life Safety industry, attending her first fire conference at the young age of six. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, Ashley pursued a career in Life Safety with Honeywell International. With several years of industry experience, Ashley has served in various sales, sales management, and sales strategy capacities.
Prior to joining Sciens, Ashley was a National Account Director for Honeywell Fire, where she supported the distribution business, which consisted of over 700 independent dealers. At Sciens, Ashley works on the front end of our acquisition process by identifying, evaluating, and executing commitments with independent dealers to join the Sciens platform. Ashley has a proven track record of success leading and working with cross-functional teams, negotiating complex contracts, and delivering innovative solutions to meet the needs of her customers. She understands the life safety distributor business and has an immense passion for the industry and her customers – keeping their needs at the forefront of all her efforts.
Ashley currently resides in Austin, Texas with her husband, Zach, and their German Shepherd, Mahx. You can catch them on the weekend watching Texas Longhorn Football! Hook’em!
Christa Poss
VP, Business Development
With 25 years of experience in the fire alarm and life safety industry, Christa has served in various sales, marketing, product management, and executive leadership roles across both the manufacturer and integrator sides of the business. Throughout her career, she has built strong relationships with more than 700 independent integrators across the U.S. and internationally, giving her a unique perspective on the evolving life safety landscape and the needs of independent dealers.
Prior to joining Sciens, Christa served as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Midwest Alarm Services. Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles with Honeywell Fire, NOTIFIER, and System Sensor, where she focused on sales growth, channel development, product launches, and strategic partnerships across the fire and life safety industry.
At Sciens, Christa works on the front end of the acquisition process by identifying, evaluating, and building relationships with independent dealers considering partnership opportunities. Her background gives her a unique perspective and a strong passion for helping companies grow while preserving their culture and legacy.
Christa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Northern Illinois University. She currently resides outside of Chicago with her husband, Eric, and their three children. Outside of work, she enjoys being involved in her church community, visiting her twins at college, and cheering on her youngest daughter at volleyball games.

Mark Levy
Board Member
Mark serves on the Sciens board, as he has since the start of the business under Huron Capital and its transition to Carlyle ownership. He brings over 40 years of experience in the Life Safety and Security industries. He was President and CEO of Honeywell Life Safety, a $3.9 billion unit of Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions for over 14 years. Mark began his career at Fire-Lite Alarms, Inc., a modest 25-person family business. In 1984 after significant growth, he sold Fire-Lite to Pittway Corporation of Chicago who was a significant customer. Mark has also served as Co-Chairman of Potter Electric Signal Company since it was acquired by Gryphon Investors and subsequently serves in that position after acquisition by KKR in 2023. He has also served on various boards in a variety of capacities. He holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Denver and an honorary Doctor of Business from the University of New Haven.
In his spare time, Mark is an avid swimmer as well as enjoys snow skiing.

Jim Mahoney
Board Member
Jim is the Managing Partner of Huron Capital. In addition to sourcing, evaluating, executing and managing investments, Jim is responsible for setting strategy and managing the operations of the firm. He is focused primarily on niche segments within the business services space, including facility, infrastructure, and utility services. B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Villanova University; M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in Finance and Accounting.
In his spare time, Jim enjoys mountain biking (the more challenging the trail, the better!), skiing, and fly fishing (or any other sport that “requires” the purchase of a lot of gear). He spent the first year of his marriage living in a canal house in Amsterdam and now resides in the Detroit area with his wife and three children.
Dean Seavers
Board Member
Dean’s most recent position was President and Executive Director of National Grid. Previously, he served as Founder and CEO of Red Hawk Fire & Security. He was also President and CEO of GE Security and President of SimplexGrinnell. Building on a long career in managing operations in commercial and residential security companies, Dean led National Grid’s business transformation, which included a relentless focus on safety and performance improvement. He also played a pivotal role in transforming National Grid into a customer-focused leader in the transition to clean energy.
Dean holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BBA from Kent State University.
In addition to being wildly competitive in sports, Dean and his wife have recently become serial home remodelers.
Greg Nikodem
Board Member
Greg is a Managing Director of The Carlyle Group focused on buyouts, privatizations and strategic minority investments in the industrial and business services sectors. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Asplundh Tree Experts, Nouryon and Sciens Building Solutions. Greg received a BS in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management from Stanford University and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.
Greg stays busy at home with four kids and loves to go on family ski trips.
Henrik Slipsager
Board Member
Henrik is an Operating Executive with The Carlyle Group focused on business services. He spent 15 years as President and CEO of ABM Industries where, under his leadership, the business transformed into an integrated facilities solutions provider both organically and through acquisitions. Prior to joining ABM, Henrik was President of 2M-Invest and also spent time at ISS U.S., the world’s largest facility services company where he ultimately became CEO. In addition to Sciens, he currently serves on the boards of Arctic Glacier Holdings, Inc., Purestar, CSC Serviceworks, and Lithko.
Henrik holds an MBA-equivalent and CPA-equivalent, both from the Business School of Copenhagen. He is married with three children and enjoys golfing and playing bridge. He is a soccer fanatic and follows the Danish National Team.
Roger Fradin
Board Member
Roger has over 40 years of experience acquiring, building, and leading a diverse set of industrial businesses. He began his career at Pittway Corporation where he held a variety of roles of increasing responsibility, including President and CEO of the Security and Fire Solutions segment, and helped lead an entrepreneurial team which transformed Pittway into a $2 billion world leader in electronic security and fire systems. In 2000, Pittway was acquired by Honeywell International and Roger assumed the role of President and CEO of Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions. During his tenure at Honeywell, he also served as Vice Chairman where he was responsible for acquisition strategy for all of Honeywell. After retiring from Honeywell, Roger was named Chairman of Resideo Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of home comfort and security solutions. In addition to Resideo, he currently sits on the boards of L3Harris Technologies Inc. and Vertiv Group Corp. He also serves as advisor to MSC Industrial Direct Co., Inc. and formerly served on the boards of Pitney Bowes, Inc., and GS Acquisition Holdings Corp., plus several of The Carlyle Group’s portfolio companies in his capacity as a Carlyle Operating Executive. Roger holds a BS and MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Irma Shrivastava
Board Member
As founder of R2 Strategic Solutions, Irma is a strategic business executive who excels at translating customer needs into innovative marketing and commercial strategies to drive revenue. She previously served as Chief Marketing & Communications Officer at Randstad, the world’s leading human resources services company. She also brings experience from years at Coca-Cola, leading the brand growth strategy for well-established brands like Diet Coke and McDonalds, as well as entrepreneurial consumer brands. Irma is on the boards of PE-backed companies, Health-Ade and Desi Fresh Foods, and is also a founding board member for 48in48, a nonprofit that mobilizes marketers to serve nonprofits, and ECHHA, an organization that supports cultural connection. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from The McIntire School at the University of Virginia, and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Irma lives in Atlanta with her husband and has two teenage children. She enjoys playing tennis, running outdoors, and has recently taken up Mahjong.
Katherine Barasch
Board Member
Katherine Barasch is a Principal focused on U.S. buyout opportunities in the industrials and transportation sectors. She is based in Washington, DC. Since joining Carlyle in 2012, she has been a key contributor to several of the firms investments, including ADT CAPS, HD Supply, Nouryon, Veyance, and Victory Innovations. Prior to joining Carlyle, she was an Analyst in J.P. Morgan’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group. Katherine holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS, summa cum laude, from Georgetown University.
Anna Mire
Board Member
Anna Mire is a Vice President with the Carlyle Group, one of the world’s largest and most diversified global investment firms. At Carlyle, she is focused on U.S. buyout opportunities within the industrial and transportation sectors. She is based in Washington, DC. Prior to Carlyle, Anna was an Investment Banking Analyst at Credit Suisse in its Chicago office from 2015-2017, where she focused on global industrial and business services clients.
Outside of work, Anna’s interests include travel, basketball, and Tennessee sports. She is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee.
